Zillow to hire 160 in new Scottsdale office – Phoenix Business Journal – The Business Journals

Now that Zillow Group Inc. has settled into its new Scottsdale digs, plans call for hiring 160 employees this year and investing $7.2 million in capital.
That’s in addition to the 175 employees who already work at Zillow Offers, the division that buys and sells homes directly.
Zillow’s expansion in Scottsdale is just another example of the positive economic momentum in Arizona, said Gov. Doug Ducey at a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 17 at the company’s new offices.
“Arizona has been known for decades as a home-building capital, as a place of growth and new rooftops,” Ducey said. “When I think it’s so symbolic of Zillow’s expansion here, that is reflective of the technology that we are bringing to the state of Arizona, that we are on the cutting edge of technology, and this company is Exhibit A for what’s happening, not just at the Galleria — which is an incredible location —but throughout the state.”
Zillow (Nasdaq: Z) leases 25,000 square feet on the third floor of the Galleria Corporate Center, 4343 N. Scottsdale Road in downtown Scottsdale for its southwest hub. The company started out in temporary space in Galvanize Inc.’s coworking space in downtown Phoenix last year when Zillow Offers launched.
Ducey told the Zillow team he is thrilled to see the company expand in Arizona, where the tech sector supports more than 237,000 jobs.
“We know you had many choices of states and markets where you could grow and expand and we’re grateful you chose Arizona,” Ducey told Zillow staff. “We’re here to be your partner in the growth.
Plans call for hiring recruiters, corporate counsel, human resources, project coordinators, analysts, loan originators, business operations staff and employee trainers. The jobs range from entry level to director, and a college education is not required for all roles.
