Medac founder and CEO Bijon Memar lists Buckhead mansion for $8.5 million

A Tudor-inspired Buckhead mansion with numerous outdoor amenities is on the market.

The house, designed by Atlanta-based architecture firm William T. Baker & Associates and constructed in 2007 by Dan Mattox of Atlanta-based luxury homebuilder Builders II Inc., is priced at about $8.5 million, according to a listing by Ansley Real Estate Christie’s International. Stacy Shailendra is the listing agent.

The asking price translates to about $844 per square foot.

Bijon Memar owns the house, according to Fulton County property records. Memar is founder of South Carolina-based Medac, a provider of revenue cycle management and technology to anesthesia medical practices across the United States.

A corporation affiliated with Memar bought a Palm Beach, Florida, house for about $12.3 million last year.

Memar’s Atlanta house is in Buckhead’s Wyngate neighborhood. It spans roughly 10,000 square feet with seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, per the listing.

Wyngate is a small Buckhead neighborhood that is centrally located within the affluent district.

There were seven home sales with a median price of $2 million during the 12 months ending Sept. 30, according to First Multiple Listing Service. The average Wyngate house sold for about 5% below the original asking price during that period, and the median price per square foot was $435.

The English Tudor design of this house includes imported antique doors, centuries-old stained-glass windows and hand-hewn reclaimed wood beams. There are Baccarat chandeliers, hand-painted wall coverings, Francois & Co. limestone mantels, and custom steel doors/windows.

With high ceilings and large windows, the house’s main level includes an entrance hall, office, living room and banquet-sized dining room. The kitchen has a barrel cove ceiling, butler’s pantry and separate breakfast room. It features Calcutta marble surfaces, high-end appliances and two large islands overlooking the vaulted, fireside keeping room.

The main-level, primary bedroom suite includes a bay window sitting area; fireplace; and bathroom with heated floors, a soaking tub, steam shower room and two custom walk-in closets.

There are five bedroom suites on the upper level, as well as a laundry room and and flex space for entertaining. The lower terrace level includes a wine cellar and tasting room, home theatre, gym and private guest suite.

Amenities outside the house and throughout the 2.3 acre property include a gazebo and fire pit, bocce ball court with beverage center, covered loggia, sport court, outdoor fireplace seating area, thatched roof potting shed cottage, and heated PebbleTec pool with a pool-guest house.
