Cherie Tsukamoto has been named the 2023 Hawaii Realtor of the Year by Hawaii Realtors, a statewide professional trade organization.
The award was announced at the Hawaii Realtors Trending Up conference at Hilton Hawaiian Village in late September.
According to an announcement from the organization, the award has recognized an outstanding Realtor in Hawaii for their work in the interest of fellow Realtors, the profession and the community every year since 1967.
“For more than four decades Cherie has dedicated herself to making the dream of homeownership a reality for hundreds of families across Hawaii,” Kalama Kim, president of Hawaii Realtors, said in a statement. “Through her tireless service to our communities and to our profession, Cherie exemplifies the highest ethics and values of a Hawaii Realtor, and we are pleased to honor her as our 2023 Hawaii Realtor of the Year.”
According to the announcement, Tsukamoto, who is now broker-in-charge of Hawaii Life’s East Oahu office in Hawaii Kai, started her real estate career in 1979 while living on Kauai.
Tsukamoto’s professional designations include accredited buyer’s representative; certified real estate brokerage manager; certified residential specialist; graduate, Realtor Institute; senior real estate specialist; and military relocation professional, the announcement noted.
She previously served as a director for Hawaii Realtors and as the organization’s Education Committee chair. Tsukamoto also was a director for the Honolulu Board of Realtors and served as the organization’s Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee chair and is a National Association of Realtors Graduate Realtor Institute instructor, Strategies instructor and Code of Ethics instructor, according to the announcement.
Tsukamoto was named among Pacific Business News’ 2023 Women Who Mean Business honorees and received the 2022 Marcus Nishikawa Education and Professional Achievement Award from the Honolulu Board of Realtors.
