Historic Brookhaven house featured in luxury real estate magazines listed for $6M

A historic Brookhaven house that underwent a magazine-worthy renovation is on the market.

David and Jamie Dean are asking just under $6 million for their house near Capital City Club, according to a listing by Home Real Estate LLC. Cathy Boston is the list agent.

There is a guest house on the property, as well. In total, there are six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Amenities include a pool and hot tub, game room, gym and covered patio. The property spans about an acre and includes a putting green.

The Deans bought the house in 2011 for a little more than $1.1 million, according to First Multiple Listing Service and DeKalb County property records. They renovated and expanded it in 2012, per the listing.

After the renovation, the house was featured in three magazine features, according to the listing. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution featured the house in 2015, when it was included in the Historic Brookhaven Candlelight Tour of Homes.

Residential development in historic Brookhaven began in 1910. Today, the district is one of Atlanta’s most exclusive and affluent.

Over the past year, there were 14 houses sold in Historic Brookhaven. The median sale price was $1.7 million, according to FMLS data. The median sale price in metro Atlanta during that time was $400,000.
